Aimee Mann Benefit Show
Aimee Mann is kicking off 2011 by putting on a benefit show for her drummer who recently suffered a heart attack.
John “Huggy Bear” Sands is still recovering in the hospital after suffering a heart attack Nov. 15.
On Tuesday the Facebook page for “Team Huggy” reported that Sands was moved to the Mini-ICU unit. The update noted that was a “huge step forward” in the drummer’s recovery.
Team Huggy is raising funds to help with the costs of Sands’ medical care and expenses.

The benefit show takes place Jan. 21 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Along with Mann, the show promises to feature performances from a few special guests.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at $40 plus applicable fees.
