Waffling Fan Banned

Hockey fan Joseph Robb is officially banned from three venues after tossing waffles inside the Air Canada Centre.

Robb protested the poor performance of the Toronto Maple Leafs by throwing waffles onto the ice Dec. 20. Maple Leaf sports & Entertainment VP Bob Hunter called Robb’s actions inappropriate.

Robb was charged with criminal mischief and barred from the arena. He also has been banned from MLSE events at BMO Field and Ricoh Coliseum.

Robb said he’s just a normal fan of the team, which is ranked 28th out of the National Hockey League’s 30 teams.

Hunter says MLSE bars a dozen or two dozen fans a year because of misbehavior.
