Watt’s Opera Is What’s Up

Mike Watt & The Missing Men hit the road in support of opera No. 3 – Hyphenated-Man – beginning in Santa Barbara, Calif.

People casually acquainted with Watt may not associate operas with the man who has played in Iggy Pop’s Stooges and Perry Farrell’s Porno for Pyros as well as with his own Minutemen and fIREHOSE. Watt’s Hyphenated-Man marks Watt’s third opera following 2004’s The Secondman’s Middle Stand and 1997’s Contemplating The Engine Room.

And Watt is giving you plenty of chances to experience hyphenated-man as he rolls through North America beginning March 10 in Santa Barbara at Velvet Jones. During the first week Watt & The Missing Men play Los Angeles at the Echo March 11; San Diego’s Casbah March 12; Tucson’s Plush March 13 ; Albuquerque at Launchpad March 14; Oklahoma City at the Conservatory March 15 and Dallas at The Loft March 16.

Other stops include Philadelphia, New York City, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Denver, Boise, Seattle, San Francisco, Portland and other towns where folks appreciate punk and opera.
