New Owner For Mishawaka Shed

The 908-capacity Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Bellevue, Colo., will get a second life with a new owner who plans to expand the shed’s musical legacy and ambiance.

Area businesswoman Dani Grant and unnamed partners closed the deal mid-December with previous owner Robin Jones.

Jones put the Poudre Canyon venue up for sale in September after he was charged on suspicion of cultivation, possession and distribution of marijuana and alleged possession of Ecstacy. Details of the sale were not disclosed, according to the Coloradoan.
Grant and her partners are well aware of what the popular shed has to offer, the paper said.

“In the Mishawaka Amphitheatre, I see great potential to expand its scope beyond how it has been utilized in the past,” Grant said in a statement. “I want this to be a place everyone in our community can experience. There is a certain magic to the space that, I think, has been masked by a fog of controversy in recent years.”

The facility has hosted a variety of acts including Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Buckethead, G. Love & Special Sauce, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Indigo Girls and STS9 in its long history.

However, residents’ complaints about drug use and alleged drunk drivers leaving the shows and Jones’ arrest eventually scuttled events there.
