The Beverly Hills, Calif., office building formerly known as future home of William Morris Endeavor is about to have a new tenant, and a pretty high-profile one at that.
MGM has signed a lease with New York-based landlord George Comfort & Sons for the six-story, 144,000-square-foot building built for, but never occupied by, WME, according to the Beverly Hills Courier.
The agency’s merger with Endeavor, and Ari Emanuel’s alleged antipathy for the digs, made the building expendable.
MGM will leave its current home, a 35-story tower it shares with International Creative Management in Century City. The paper reports MGM will buy out its lease in order to make the move at an unspecified date.
The studio recently emerged from bankruptcy reorganization with Spyglass Entertainment toppers Gary Barber and Rober Birnbaum as co-CEOs. It reportedly plans to release up to eight films per year beginning in 2012.
