Prince Books Additional MSG Date

Prince fans holding their breaths in anticipation of a fourth Madison Square Garden date can now exhale and mark Feb. 7 on their personal schedulers.

So far, Prince’s Welcome 2 America tour has been strictly an East Coast affair with December shows at the Izod Center in E. Rutherford, N.J., and the MSG gigs, including two at the Garden last month plus the sold-out Jan. 18 date as well as the brand spanking new Feb. 7 show.

The Izod Center was originally blessed with three shows by the Purple One, but lost one due to that ol’ concert industry demon known as “scheduling differences.”

The Welcome To America shows feature more than just Prince, because the artist has been inviting special guest musicians to perform with him. So far Prince has been joined by comedian Sinbad, bassist Larry Graham and Graham Central Station, Sheila E, Mint Condition and Janelle Monae. There’s no word as to who will appear with Prince on the newly added Feb. 7 show at The Garden.
