Toyota Roof Replacement

A fabric roof that covers the stage at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain may have survived a snowstorm that destroyed the venue’s outer canopy in 2007, but the time has come for a replacement.

Officials for the Lackawanna County Performing Arts Center Authority in Moosic, Pa., are seeking bids to replace the 10,000-square-foot roof at the Pavilion, according to the local Times-Tribune.

Plans for the venue also reportedly include new sidewalls, a new canopy for the dock area and cleaning and repainting of the structure’s steel framework.

The shed’s outer canopy, which collapsed and ripped apart under the weight of snow and ice in February 2007, was replaced later that year.

Authority chair James McDonough told the paper the roof and venue updates are scheduled to be completed before the 2011 summer concert season.
