Norway Opens Up In Berlin
Music Export Norway will open a new office in Berlin Jan. 27 that will serve Germany and the German-speaking countries of Austria and Switzerland.
Norwegian acts Casiokids, Moddi, Susanne Sundfor and Shinig will celebrate the office opening with a concert staged the same day at the city’s HBC-Kollektiv.
MEN’s new Berlin office is also planning to represent the Nordic countries at German music industry gatherings such as Popkomm, Reeperbahn Festival and Campus and Jazzahead. The music export offices in the Scandinavian territories are working together to find ways to promote each other’s music industries.
In the UK, where MEN opened a new office in 2008, the export offices run joint event nights to showcase talent throughout the region. It’s hoped a similar scheme can be set up for the GAS territories.
At Eurosonic-Noorderslag in The Netherlands Jan. 12-15 about a half-dozen Norwegian acts will be showcasing for the European Talent Exchange Programme.
