Crosby, Nash Hit The Road

Having toured as the occasional duo for four decades, Crosby and Nash will be backed by a band consisting of James Raymond playing keyboards, guitarist Dean Parks, bassist Kevin McCormick and Steve DiStanislao on drums.

The plan calls for Crosby and Stills to switch between acoustic and electric instruments as they play their classic tunes as well as a few new songs. Plus, the artists are launching their own label, Blue Castle Records, which will release the first-ever digital and vinyl editions of their 1971 Another Stoney Evening live album recorded in Los Angeles at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in 1971. The album drops March 22 and can be pre-ordered via the Crosby / Nash website when ticket sales launch later this month.

“This album represents the very beginning of our musical relationship as a duo,” Nash said in a statement announcing the tour. “Whatever David and I do well together, it’s wonderful that we’re still doing it well. For the upcoming tour, with a rock ‘n’ roll band, we’ve gotten fantastic advance response. It’s exciting to be bringing this great new show to people.”

Right now, the only dates on the schedule are in California, Washington and Colorado with more shows expected to be announced. The tour begins in Long Beach at the Long Beach Terrace Theatre March 25, plays Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theatre March 27 and San Francisco at the Warfield Theatre March 28.

March 30 is the Washington stop – Seattle’s WaMu Theatre – then it’s back to California for shows in Arcata at Humboldt State University’s Van Duzer Theatre April 1; Chico State University’s Laxson Auditorium April 2, and the Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo April 4. The lone Colorado date on the routing is Denver’s Paramount Theater April 9 as part of the Swallow Hill Rootsfest.
