Dodos March Toward World Domination Continues

With dates in North America and Europe plus a new album coming out, 2011 is shaping up to be a great year for indie duo The Dodos.

Featuring Meric Long on guitar and Logan Kroeber on drums, The Dodos’s fourth album, No Color, drops March 15 in the U.S. and one day earlier throughout the rest of the world. On No Color the group reunited with producer John Askew who helmed The Dodos’ first two efforts – Beware Of The Maniacs and Visiter.

“I have a love for ‘90s riffs that I haven’t gotten to showcase in this band,” Long said in the tour’s official announcement. “The most fun I had with this record was when I got to strap on the electric guitar and come up with Billy Corgan riffs while the tape was rolling.”

The tour launches in Reno at the Lincoln Lounge March 10. Other North American dates include Las Vegas at the Beauty Bar March 11; Phoenix at The Duce March 13; Kansas City at the Record Bar March 21; Minneapolis at the Cedar Cultural Center March 23; Winnipeg at West End March 25; Los Angeles at El Rey Theatre April 8 and San Diego at the Casbah April 9.

The guys also have most of Austin’s SXSW marked on their touring calendar – March 15-19.

The Euro run begins April 27 in Donostia, Spain, at Gazteszena and includes stops in Grenoble (May 2), Rome (May 4), Berlin (May 9), Amsterdam (May 13), Paris (May 18), London (May 19) and Glasgow (May 21).
