Sting, Trudie Are ‘Twin Spirits’
Devised and directed for the stage by John Caird, “True Spirits” features Sting and his better half reading the Schumanns’ letters to each other while a six-member ensemble plays the composer’s music. “True Spirits” will be presented at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles Feb. 15.
“True Spirits” was first performed in 2005 and was recorded at London’s Royal Opera House in 2007 with Sting and Trudie reading the Schumanns’ letters. Since then, the piece has been performed at Windsor Castle, Salisbury Cathedral and Cortona’s Tuscan Sun Festival. The most recent performance of “Twin Spirits” was last June at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
Tickets prices range from $80 to $150 for standard reserved seating while VIP tix, including a post-concert reception with the artists, are priced at $350. For more information, visit CenterTheatreGroup.org.
