Longoria Sued Over Vegas Venture

TV star Eva Longoria’s former partner in the Beso restaurant and Eve nightclub at CityCenter in Las Vegas is reportedly suing the actress for more than $4 million, claiming a breach of California usury laws to start.

The lawsuit, filed by Mali Nachum Jan. 10 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, accuses Longoria of loaning Nachum $1 million for the project in 2009 with promised repayment terms at 8 percent annual interest and a large stake in the business.

The lawsuit claims those terms are too high per California usury laws and the actress is just lining her pockets.

Nachum also claims that she and her husband, Ronen, were allegedly pushed out of handling operations at the business and the partnership, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Beso LLC filed Jan. 6 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U. S. Bankruptcy Court in Las Vegas, the WSJ said.
A publicist for Longoria said Nachum’s lawsuit is without merit.
