Pollstar Live! Update

The J.W. Marriott Hotel at L.A. Live is approaching sold-out status for the Feb. 4-5 dates of the Pollstar Live! conference. The special discounted block of hotel rooms is now full. The hotel itself is already at full capacity for Feb. 1-3 and any remaining rooms for the weekend, even at rack rate, are going fast.

The finishing touches have been put on nearly every panel. Ralph Simon has just added a number of heavy hitters for his NACPA-sponsored session on “Marrying Music and Mobile: How Handsets Bring Customers To Concerts.” Big Champagne CEO Eric Garland, TopSpin CEO Ian Rogers, and former Sony exec and current professor at USC School of Cinema-Television Rob Tercek will help delegates understand the explosion in mobile devices and how to use them to their business advantage.

The “Deep Thoughts On Production” panel being moderated by Bill Rahmy includes artist managers Michael McDonald and Rich Schaefer along with production managers Bill Leabody (Shakira), Chuck Randall (Alice In Chains), and Christopher Kansy (Roger Waters).

An especially large contingent of international delegates are attending this year. In addition to the usual large number of delegates from Canada, Mexico, the U.K., Germany and Australia, we are pleased to welcome industry professionals from the United Arab Emirates, Czech Republic, Turkey, China, Brazil, Albania, the Dominican Republic and dozens of other countries to balmy southern California.

The latest news on the conference including on-site updates during the event can be found at http://twitter.com/pollstarlive.

A ticket to the February 5th Concert Industry Awards Party at Club Nokia is included with every Pollstar Live! registration but single tickets are also available at www.pollstarpro.com/live2011. Tickets are $150 and include the 6:30 pm pre-party and the open bar post-show party.
