Police near Detroit have arrested a man for allegedly selling fake tickets online to
Justin Gnesotto was arraigned Jan. 19 on one count of false pretenses of more than $200 but less than $1,000, according to court documents obtained by the Detroit Free Press.
Prior to the arrest, police told the paper several complaints of fake tickets were filed and a preliminary investigation indicated hundreds in the area might have been scammed out of as much as $1,500 through ticket offerings on Craigslist.
It is unclear how many tickets Gnesotto sold.
The Jan. 15 concert reportedly drew about 60,000 concertgoers to the hometown hero’s 40th birthday bash.
A pretrial conference has been set for Jan. 27. If convicted, Gnesotto could face up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine, the paper said.
