Craigslist Scammer Arrested

Police near Detroit have arrested a man for allegedly selling fake tickets online to Kid Rock’s recent 40th birthday concert at Ford Field.

Justin Gnesotto was arraigned Jan. 19 on one count of false pretenses of more than $200 but less than $1,000, according to court documents obtained by the Detroit Free Press.

Prior to the arrest, police told the paper several complaints of fake tickets were filed and a preliminary investigation indicated hundreds in the area might have been scammed out of as much as $1,500 through ticket offerings on Craigslist.

It is unclear how many tickets Gnesotto sold.

The Jan. 15 concert reportedly drew about 60,000 concertgoers to the hometown hero’s 40th birthday bash.

A pretrial conference has been set for Jan. 27. If convicted, Gnesotto could face up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine, the paper said.
