The indie folk band reunited for a single show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in summer 2007, but ticket demands turned the group’s onsale into a three-date affair, with each show selling out as fast as people could buy tickets.

More recently, as in last Friday, the band launched its fan-presale for dates on its summer tour, resulting once again in more shows added to the schedule.

New dates include two extra shows for Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre June 3 and 5, two more shows for Boston’s TD Garden June 24 and 26 and an additional concert for Secaucus, N.J., at the Red Bull Arena June 17.

Chicago, which already has the band scheduled for Millennium Park June 8, not only got an extra date but also a second venue, with the additional show scheduled for June 7 at the Windy City’s UIC Pavilion.

Southern California fans fretting over the original schedule’s lack of a Los Angeles date can now exhale. This week’s additions include June 12 at the Greek Theatre.

The fan presale remains in effect until the general public onsale fires up Jan. 28. For more information, click here for the Dispatch website.
