Illness Silences You Say Party
Turns out You Say Party vocalist Becky Ninkovic has a nasty case of bronchitis that has forced the Vancouver-based band to stay put for a while. The tour was supposed to launch in Vancouver Feb. 19.
Of course, whenever a co-headline tour glitches like this, it affects all the bands on the bill. In this case, some of the dates are being rescheduled with Young Galaxy and Winter Gloves on the bill.
Ninkovic’s bout with bronchitis is just the latest crisis for the dance-punk band.
Originally called You Say Party! We Say Die!, the band was performing at a Vancouver venue in April when drummer Devon Clifford collapsed on stage. Clifford was rushed to a hospital where he later died from a brain hemorrhage.
The band shortened its name to You Say Party in June.
