Seger To Tour This Year

Detroit’s favorite Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man, Bob Seger, hits the road beginning in March. Is today a great day or what?

Actually, the only thing that would make today’s announcement better is if Seger’s people released the actual dates instead of saying the itinerary will be “announced shortly.”

The last time the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductee toured was on his 2006-2007 outing that marked a return to the concert stage after a ten-year absence.

Seger built his reputation on his live shows, playing just about every club and hall available in Michigan and the Midwest during the 1960s and early ‘70s. Although he had some national chart action with songs like “Get Out Of Denver” and “Ramblin’ Gamblin Man,” the artist didn’t achieve major success until his 1975 album documenting a multi-night stand at Detroit’s Cobo Arena, Live Bullet, introduced national audiences to what Detroit fans knew all along – that he was one of the best live acts… ever.

As to what fans can expect from the upcoming tour, today’s announcement mentions favorites like “Night Moves” and “Old Time Rock & Roll” plus new songs from an upcoming, yet untitled album.

Meanwhile, we’re anxiously waiting for the dates. And watching his website for more info.
