Mars Makes Plea Deal

Bruno Mars has cut a deal that will get him a year of informal probation stemming from a September arrest for cocaine possession at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel.

Mars will plead guilty to felony cocaine possession, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal, and pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service, attending drug counseling and staying out of trouble.

If the 25-year-old is successful, he will be allowed to withdraw his plea and the case will be dismissed, the paper said. A preliminary hearing Feb. 4 will be waived and a hearing will be scheduled for the guilty plea.

Mars was arrested Sept. 19 at the hotel after security confronted him a restaurant.
