Metro Approves New Shed

Nashville’s Metropolitan Planning Commission approved Feb. 2 a plan to build a 12,000-capacity shed at the former site of the Starwood Amphitheatre in Antioch, Tenn.

The move backs the Metro Council’s decision in January to rezone the property to clear the way to build the facility as well as a five-year permit for outdoor events, according to WSMV-TV.

The former Live Nation-owned property was originally to be used for a mixed-use development with town homes and retail space after the Starwood shuttered in 2006. The shed was torn down in 2007 but the development plan never materialized after the economy crashed.
