An Avalanche Of New Tour Dates
Where The Decemberists Will Be In April & May
The Decemberists have announced a second round of 2011 U.S. dates.
The first leg began in late January and runs through a Feb. 18 gig at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Ore.
The new dates begin April 16 at University Of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Headline shows are booked through a May 2 gig at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
The indie folk band will also be making stops at University Of Iowa in Iowa City, April 18; Benedum Center in Pittsburgh April 21; Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., April 25; The Pageant in St. Louis April 27; and House Of Blues in Dallas April 29.
A limited number of presale tickets are on sale now. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Feb. 11.
In between the U.S. runs the band tours Europe in March with shows in United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium and Netherlands. Fans can also catch the group at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (May 1) and at Sasquatch! Music Festival in Quincy, Wash. (May 30).
The Decemberists are touring in support of their No.1 album The King is Dead.

More Romance For Dashboard Confessional
Dashboard Confessional has some more celebrating to do. Frontman Chris Carrabba has announced a third leg of dates in support of the 10th anniversary tour of The Swiss Army Romance.
The solo acoustic tour features Carrabba performing Dashboard Confessional’s debut 2000 album in its entirety.
The first leg of the tour began in late November with a West Coast leg added in mid-January.
New dates begin March 24 at The Marquee in Tempe, Ariz., and wrap up April 3 at The Masquerade in Atlanta. Additional shows include Emo’s in Austin, Texas, March 26; Palladium Ballroom in Dallas March 27; Bogart’s in Cincinnati March 30; Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, Tenn., March 31; and Amos’ Southend in Charlotte, N.C.
Presale tickets are on sale now.
Dashboard Confessional is also set to play The Bamboozle New Jersey April 30 in East Rutherford, along with a Nov. 22 gig at House Of Blues in San Diego.

The Avalanche Continues
The inaugural Avalanche Tour keeps getting bigger with the recent addition of five more stops.
The tour features Stone Sour, Theory Of A Deadman, Skillet, HaleStorm and Art Of Dying.
The fun begins March 24 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. Dates are on the books through May 1 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
New dates include stops in Nashville, Tenn. (March 30); Tupelo, Miss. (April 6); Little Rock, Ark. (April 23); Waterloo, Iowa (April 26) and Grand Rapids, Mich. (April 27).
