Sonoma and music naturally go together. Deep in the heart of Northern California’s wine country, the town is a great destination for any weekend getaway and having a music festival take place near the center of town makes it even more enjoyable. Add in the location – a 3,800 seat tent at the Field Of Dreams recreational park located just a couple of blocks from the town’s central plaza – and you have the makings of a great three-day mini vacation.

Scheduled for May 20-22, the seventh annual Sonoma Jazz + Festival is getting a slight name change this year as a new three-year presenting rights agreement with Union Bank morphs the event’s name into “Sonoma Jazz + Presented By Union Bank.”

The festival also has a big-league promoter in its corner, having formed an alliance with AEG Live.

Headlining the festival’s first night on May 20 will be John Fogerty. Sheryl Crow and her new band command the top slot on May 21 as the singer-songwriter performs selections from her tribute to Stax Records called 100 Miles To Memphis.

Closing the festival on May 22 will be the Gipsy Kings, a very elegant way to wrap up a perfect weekend.
