Indian Police Call Off Bryan Adams Concert
A Bryan Adams concert in India’s capital has been canceled hours before the Canadian rocker was to take the stage, with police reportedly concerned about the overcrowded venue.
New Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat says police informed concert organizers that they would not be allowed to stage Tuesday night’s show.
Bhagat did not give further details. However, the Indian Express newspaper reported that organizers sold 10,000 tickets for a venue that has a capacity of 6,000, causing police to become concerned about the safety of concertgoers.
The concert’s organizers said they would try to reschedule the show at another venue.
