Punkspring Announced

Creativeman Productions’ annual one-day Punkspring festival will happen April 3 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan, just outside of Tokyo, as well as venues in Nagoya April 1 and Osaka April 2.

The lineup was just finalized with a number of late additions that got people talking.

In addition to headliners Good Charlotte and Hoobastank, Andrew W.K. is on the bill, fresh from putting out yet another Japan-only track titled “I Was Born to Love You,” released by the Japan arm of Universal Music.

The American party-rocker has already released two Japan-only albums in the past several years.

Also scheduled for the festival are two bands with early American punk roots – the New York Dolls and the Dead Kennedys.
