Called “The Hollywood Hits Tour” each evening includes music from the Robert Redford baseball flick, “The Natural,” a tribute to film composer John Williams (who used to conduct The Pops) and several traditional tunes inspired by baseball including “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” and “National Game.” Actor Jeremiah Kissel will narrate Ernest Thayer’s famous 19th century ode to the sport, “Casey At The Bat.”

Loggins closes the evening, joining The Pops for a set featuring his hits, including his movie songs “Footloose,” from the film of the same name, and “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack.”

The first ever minor league baseball stadium tour by The Boston Pops begins in Durham, N.C., at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park Aug. 16. Other locations and dates include Fort Mill, S.C., at Knights Stadium Aug. 17; Lawrenceville, Ga., at Coolray Field Aug. 19; Nashville at Greer Stadium Aug. 20 and Memphis at AutoZone Park Aug. 21. The tour also plays Birmingham, Ala. (Aug. 23) and New York towns Buffalo (Aug. 26), Rochester (Aug. 27) and Syracuse (Aug. 28). Last date on the routing is Aug. 30 in New Britain, Conn., at the New Britain Stadium.
