Scheduled for June 30-July 3 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy, Calif., High Sierra let loose this week with a laundry list of bands and artists, reminding us yet again why the yearly festival is a must-see for anyone who loves experiencing live music in the great outdoors.

Also appearing this year are Yonder Mountain String Band, Rebelution, Maceo Parker, Dr. Dog, ALO, Beats Antique, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Ernest Ranglin, Bill Frisell’s Beautiful Dreamers featuring Eyvind Kang and Rudy Royston, Travelin’ McCourys, Los Amigos Invisibles, Delta Spirit, The Infamous Stringdusters and more. So many in fact, that the folks at High Sierra produced this video to tell you all about it.

Along with multiple daytime stages and nighttime venues, High Sierra also offers artist “playshops,” great food, yoga, Pilates and dance classes, an interactive KidZone, daily parades starring oversized puppets and an adjacent Olympic-size swimming pool. Factor in the music and you’ve got all the makings for a great four-day weekend.

But you’ll need tickets. Early bird 4-day passes priced at $165 are available through March 14 or until the allotment is sold out. Also available are kids four-day passes, teen passes and premium “FestivALL” packages including VIP lounge access, private port-o-johns, snacks, beer and wine tastings and some quality time in a massage chair.
