Before Taylor Takes The Stage

Who’s opening for Taylor Swift this summer? That depends on the city.

Although NeedToBreathe appearing on all North American dates on the “Speak Now” tour was announced in December, information on opening acts wasn’t detailed until today as word emerged from the Swiftian universe that one of these artists – Frankie Ballard, Danny Gokey, Hunter Hayes, Josh Kelley, Randy Montana, James Wesley or Charlie Worsham – will appear first onstage when America’s country sweetheart plays your town.

Simply put, Frankie Ballard opens May 27 through June 11, Randy Montana June 11-26, James Wesley June 25-July 2; Danny Gokey July 8-24, Hunter Hayes July 28-Aug. 14, Josh Kelley Aug. 18-Sept. 11 and Charlie Worsham Sept. 16-Oct. 8.

Here is where where it gets slightly complicated. You may have already noticed that some of the dates overlap, such as both Ballard and Montana appearing on the Detroit June 11 date. But the Motown stop is a stadium show at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions. You see, stadium concerts on this tour include performances by two of the opening acts.

Expect Gokey to appear along with Montana on the June 18 show at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, Wesley and Montana at the Gillette Stadium shows in Foxboro, Mass., June 25-26 and Wesley appearing the same night as Hunter on the Aug. 6 Philadelphia concert at Lincoln Financial Field.

Yes, it can be a tad confusing, but that’s why the good Lord created computers, giving us the ability to easily dig through the data to determine who is opening for Swift on any given date. Check out TaylorSwift.com for more information
