Allman’s first list of solo appearances following the release of his best-selling album, the T Bone Burnett-produced Low Country Blues, were April dates with the Steve Miller Band. New, non-Miller dates just added to Allman’s schedule include April 29 at the Sunfest in West Palm Beach and May 1 at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis.

Allman also increased the number of his Big Easy appearances to two by adding a May 4 gig in New Orleans at House Of Blues. Previously announced is his scheduled performance at the set for May 6.

Other new solo dates are May 7 at Hard Rock Live in Biloxi, Miss., and June 4 in upstate New York at Taste Of Syracuse.

Not only is Low Country Blues Allman’s latest solo album, it’s also his best-selling solo effort to date. Described as “intimate, tightly focused, carefully arranged but never stiff” by The New York Times while the Boston Globe praised Allman for “scaling new peaks,” Low Country Blues debuted at No. 1 on Amazon the week it was released.

Allman recently told Pollstar about the creative process behind Low Country Blues and how the songs appearing on the album were chosen.

“The way we came about these songs is T Bone gave me a hard drive that had thousands of blues songs – old ones, obscure ones – that back in the day would have been album cuts but they didn’t have long-playing records back then. Just kind of obscure songs that support the main ones.

“He sent them, telling me to ‘arrange these up to 2010, put your own stuff in it and make them yours as much as you can.’”
