‘Promoter’ Charged With Theft

Authorities say a New Jersey man posed as a concert promoter and pocketed at least $100,000 from venues in Ohio and North Carolina.

Yusuf Nadir is charged with theft by deception, criminal impersonation and writing bad checks.

Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow says the 38-year-old would call venues and use the names of actual talent representatives for major performers.

Authorities say Nadir would ask for deposits for future concert dates.

Nadir remains held on $75,000 bail following his arrest Thursday. It’s not clear whether he has hired a lawyer.

Authorities say the investigation is continuing with the assistance of law enforcement around the country as well as promotional companies like Live Nation.
