Toyota Pavilion Gets New Roof

Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Moosic, Pa., is getting a long-awaited new roof.

The 17,528-capacity shed’s outer canopy, which collapsed and ripped apart under the weight of snow and ice in February 2007, was replaced later that year. Officials for the Lackawanna County Performing Arts Center Authority sought bids in January for the replacement.

The bid was won by Quandel Group for $534,000. Architects Quad3 Group said the existing tensile fabric canopy was expected to be removed by press time, according to the city’s Times-Tribune.

The new roof is fabricated by Architen Landrell, based in the U.K. Architen Landrell installed the original pavilion and the replacement in 2007, according to the paper.

Installation of the new roof is scheduled for May 9 and was expected to be completed by May 22.
