Celine’s Husband Muses Hockey Deal

Celine Dion’s husband has hinted about entering a venture to bring an NHL team back to Quebec City.

Rene Angelil recently told the Canadian Press he may get involved in a drive to purchase a team. He previously expressed interest in joining a bid with Quebecor CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau to buy the Montreal Canadiens.

The provincial government and city have already pledged millions in taxpayer funds to build a new arena that could draw a team back to the region, following the Quebec Nordiques’ departure to Denver in 1995. Quebecor has scored a management and naming rights deal for the future facility.
