Upgrading The Cumberland Civic
Voters in Maine’s Cumberland County will be asked this November to authorize $28 million in bonds to upgrade Portland’s 34-year-old
Neal Pratt, chairman of the Civic Center board of trustees, says the board has selected architectural firm SMRT to develop the renovation plan.
County officials say the renovation is needed to keep American Hockey League franchise Portland Pirates in the city and attract high-end concerts. A renovation may include new seating, bathrooms and load-in area.
