The comedian/actor lets fans in on everything from the break-up of his marriage to his father’s struggle with cocaine.

“Laugh at my pain, is exactly that,” 3 Arts Entertainment’s Dave Becky told Pollstar. “He takes his real life, which is painful, and makes it hilarious and people relate to it.”

Hart performed his show in February for nearly 13,800 fans over a two-day period at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, bringing in a gross of $1.1 million. The sold-out gigs were filmed for an upcoming theatrical release, also titled “Laugh At My Pain.”

The 31-year-old funnyman got his start in comedy at 18 with an amateur show in Philadelphia. His past live shows have covered topics including his fear of gnats, the drawbacks of his 5-foot-5-inch height, arguments with his young daughter over juice, and why he can’t be a rapper.

Becky has been working as his manager for the past 11 years.

“When I [first] saw him I thought, ‘He’s a young Chris Tucker.’ Every word that comes out of his mouth is funny. He could read the phone book and make it funny,” Becky said.

“The plan was to turn him into a movie star and an arena act – and both have happened. The plan came through because he works so hard. He was writing great jokes and working his craft on the road, and it resonated with people and took him from clubs to arenas.”

Hart’s film credits include “The 40-Year-Old-Virgin,” “Scary Movie 4,” “Fool’s Gold,” “Death At A Funeral” and “Little Fockers.”

Upcoming film appearances include “Think Like A Man” and “Five-Year Engagement.” Fans can also catch Hart in the Fox TV pilot “Little In Common.” An arena tour is planned for early 2012.
