Broken Barrier Force Iron Maiden Postponement

Scheduled to play Rio de Janeiro last night, Iron Maiden shut down the fun only one song into the night’s set when a barrier separating the audience from the stage collapsed.

In a video clip shot by an audience member at the HSBC Arena, you can see Iron Maiden launch into its opening number, “Satellite 15… The Final Frontier” when the crowd surges to one side of the stage.

But all was not lost for Rio’s Iron Maiden fans as the band agreed to try it again tonight, reminding us once again how flexible a tour can be when the frontman also pilots the plane. Of course, last night’s tickets are good for tonight and ticket holders not able to make the rescheduled show will get refunds.

From Iron Maiden’s website (posted March 27):

“HSBC Arena and the band thank the incredible fans for their understanding of this difficult situation and their cooperation. As much as the band wish to play for their fans the safety of each one of those fans is always paramount. Iron Maiden look forward to a fantastic concert tomorrow.”
