Marking the first time the band has done any serious roadwork since the release of its 2010 album trilogy consisting of Hombre Lobo, End Times and Tomorrow Morning, Eels’ “Tremendous Dynamite World Tour” officially begins in China although the group does have a warm-up gig in Santa Ana, Calif., at the Galaxy Theatre June 1.

China happens four days later when Eels play their first-ever gigs in Beijing and Shanghai. Both stops are part of the Kama Love Music Festival, scheduled for the Beijing Sport Center June 5 and the Mao Livehouse June 6.

Europe’s next with Eels playing Copenhagen’s Vega June 10; Oslo’s Norwegian Wood Festival June 11; Goteborg, Sweden, at Tradgaarn June 12 and Salzburg, Austria, at Republic June 16.

Other Euro engagements include Luxembourg at Den Atelier June 17; Neuhausen, Germany, at the Southside Festival June 19; Scheessel, Germany, at the Hurricane Festival June 19; Heerlen, Holland, at Parksatdtheater Limburg June 20 and Eindhoven, Holland, at Muzieksgebouw Frits Philips June 21. Other countries on the band’s flight path include Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium and Switzerland with the Europe portion of the tour wrapping in Suffolk, U.K., at the Latitude Festival July 17.

North America is up next with Eels playing Austin, Texas, at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q / Waller Creek Amphitheatre July 20; Dallas at the Granada Theater July 21; Houston’s Warehouse Live July 22 and New Orleans at House Of Blues July 23. Other North American destinations include Atlanta, Boston, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Cleveland, Columbus, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. Last stop is in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre Aug. 12.

The band is raising the buzz factor about the tour via a free download containing three songs with each track hailing from one of the trilogy albums.
