LN / WMG
Live Nation has reportedly made a bid for Warner Music Group.
Live Nation is interested in buying the No. 3 record company in the U.S., according to several news reports. Interested parties also include BMG Rights Management, Yucaipa and Guggenheim Partners, plus the other big recording congloms – Sony and Universal.
One source told the New York Post Live Nation has a hard row to hoe.
“They just don’t have the cash,” the source said. “They would break their covenants.” Any LN / WMG deal would also likely invite regulatory scrutiny.
Representatives for Live Nation were keeping mum at press time.
