Robin Gibb Nixes Brazil

Information regarding Gibb’s health is sketchy. Word out of London is an ambulance took the 61-year-old singer to a hospital early Sunday morning after he began experiencing abdominal pains. Doctors advised him not to travel; resulting in Gibb canceling his Brazilian tour scheduled to begin April 7 in Porto Alegre.

You really can’t blame Gibb’s doctors for being cautious. In 2010 the singer underwent surgery for a blocked intestine.

In addition to canceling the tour, Gibb was forced to nix a planned meeting with Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff.

Gibb, along with his twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry, began singing together in the late ‘50s and went on to become one of the most successful groups in music history. The Bee Gees rank sixth on the all-time top-sellers list, topped only by Elvis Presley, Beatles, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney and Garth Brooks, according to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Maurice Gibb died of complications from a twisted intestine in 2003.
