Dinosaur Jr. was formed in 1984. After bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph left the group, guitarist J Mascis retired the band name following 1997’s Hand It Over. The alternative rock band reunited in 2005 and have since put out 2007’s Beyond and 2009’s Farm.

Bug was released in 1988 on SST Records as Dinosaur Jr.’s third album.

The new U.S. shows begin with a June 21 benefit show at Calvin Theater in Northampton, Mass. In addition to Dinosaur Jr. performing Bug, the evening will also feature a Henry Rollins talking show, Thurston Moore, and Warblers. Proceeds benefit Whole Children, a non-profit center in Hadley, Mass., which provides recreation programs for children with special needs. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 8 through the venue box office.

Dinosaur Jr. will also bring Bug to Paradise Rock Club in Boston (June 22); Terminal 5 in New York (June 23); Electric Factory in Philadelphia (June 24) and 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. (June 25).

Rollins will interview Dinosaur Jr. before the show at all four performances listed above. The shows will also feature special guests Off! The New York show includes special guest Fu**ed Up.

Limited presale tickets are available now. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, April 8.

Dinosaur Jr. is performing Bug July 1 at London’s Alexandra Palace as part of All Tomorrow’s Parties’ Don’t Look Back series. The previously announced show also features The Flaming Lips performing their 1999 album The Soft Bulletin and Deerhoof playing its 2004 album Milk Man.

J Mascis has a number of solo U.S. shows lined up. On Thursday, April 7 he performs at The EARL in Atlanta. Solo gigs are booked through a May 7 show at The Casbah in San Diego. The April 7-10 shows feature special guests Kurt Vile & The Violators. April 29 through May 7 shows feature The Black Heart Procession.
