Canada Security Company Fined

Ontario Provincial Police has charged Contemporary Security Canada with license violations. CSC won the contract to provide screening for the G8 and G20 summits last summer.

Police claim CSC was not properly qualified to screen the events, according to CBC News. Police also allege the company offered to provide security guards for meetings in Toronto despite not being properly licensed.

CSC was licensed June 11, two weeks before the G8 summit in Huntsville, Ontario. It was officially charged with three counts of offering to provide security services while not licensed, one count of employing an unlicensed security guard and two counts of failing to ensure that a security guard wears a proper uniform, according to CBC News.

CSC says it is composed of two companies: Contemporary International Canada, an event security company with experience in seven Olympic Games, and Aeroguard Security, “Canada’s leading airport security screening company.”
