Good Charlotte Cancel Indonesia Show

Good Charlotte has called off next week’s Indonesia show because of security warnings.

The performance was scheduled to take place April 22 at Boshe VVIP Club in Kuta, Bali.

The rock band posted the following statement about the cancellation on their official website Thursday:

“We were really looking forward to appearing at the JD Set in Bali next week, but safety has to come first so obviously the right call has been made.”

Tickets for the show will be refunded. Fans are to contact Mr. Dalu, the marketing manager at Boshe VVIP Club at +62 361 3603980.

According to Good Charlotte’s post, the gig will be rescheduled at an alternate location some time later this year.

NME.com notes that the Australian government recently posted a warning on www.SmartTraveller.gov.au regarding travel to Indonesia.

“We advise you to reconsider your need to travel to Indonesia, including Bali, at this time due to the very high threat of terrorist attack. … We consider that any terrorist attacks are more likely to focus on places where large numbers of Westerners gather, including, but not limited to, tourist areas in islands such as Bali, as well as Jakarta and other places in Indonesia.”

Good Charlotte perform tonight at Challenge Stadium in Perth, Australia, followed by Sunday’s gig at “ITM 400” at Seddon Park in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Earlier this week Good Charlotte and Yellowcard announced a co-headline tour. The trek begins June 10 in San Diego with dates scheduled through a June 24 show in Saint Petersburg, Fla.
