A Longer Summer For The Decemberists

The Decemberists have announced a second leg of summer dates with gigs scheduled from late July through mid-August.

The new dates are bookended with festival appearances, beginning with a July 19 set at Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Ore. The indie rock band wraps up the trek with an Aug. 13 appearance at Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.

Colin Meloy and the gang will also be making stops in Boise, Idaho (July 20); Missoula, Mont. (June 22); Chicago (July 25); Cleveland (July 26); Interlochen, Mich. (July 27); Atlantic City, N.J. (July 29) and Holyoke, Mass. (July 31).

Additional shows include Lewiston, N.Y. (Aug. 1); Charlottesville, Va. (Aug. 3); Indianapolis (Aug. 5); Austin, Texas (Aug. 8); Mesa, Ariz. (Aug. 11) and Los Angeles (Aug. 12).

Fans can also catch The Decemberists at Newport Folk Festival July 30 in Rhode Island.

Pre-sale tickets for many of the dates are on sale now. Tickets go on sale to the general public for the majority of the dates beginning Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. EST.

Caitlin Rose opens the Austin show. Support for the rest of the new shows will be provided by either The Head And The Heart or Typhoon.

The Decemberists are touring in support of their sixth studio album, The King is Dead.
