Animal Collective Announces Summer Shows

Animal Collective followed its set at Coachella by announcing a round of U.S. shows for July.

The indie rock band’s April 16 Coachella performance wrapped up a short U.S. April trek. The group’s second 2011 U.S. leg begins July 7 at Beacham Theatre in Orlando, Fla.

Additional stops include Alpharetta, Ga.’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre At Encore Park (July 8), and Mr. Small’s Theatre in Pittsburgh (July 13).

Animal Collective will also get the chance to play Merriweather Post Pavilion on July 9. The group thinks so highly of the Columbia, Md., venue that they named their 2009 eighth studio album after the facility.
