Peas For Free In NYC

The Black Eyed Peas will perform a free show in New York City’s Central Park in June to benefit the fight against poverty.

Scheduled for the park’s Great Lawn June 9, the show will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation’s mission to alleviate poverty in the Big Apple. The Peas announced the free show this morning on NYC radio show Elvis Duran and the Z100 Morning Zoo.

Although this is a free show, you’ll still need a ticket to gain access. The plan is to make 54,000 free ducats available via a random giveaway at BlackEyedPeas.RobinHood.org beginning May 11. Of course, you need to register in order to have a chance at winning, so you might want to put that on your to-do list today.

Along with the giveaway there will be a small amount of VIP tickets made available for purchase.

“We are thrilled to follow in the footsteps of icons such as Simon & Garfunkel and Diana Ross by performing a free concert for our fans in Central Park,” BEP’s Fergie said. “But more importantly we are performing to benefit Robin Hood’s efforts to help those living in poverty in New York City and to help disadvantaged youth in New York with the launch of our Peapod Academy.”
