Andrew Bird Flies Northeast For Fall

The new solo gigs begin with an Oct. 12 performance at Harro East Ballroom in Rochester, N.Y. The trek wraps Oct. 22 at Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del.

Stops along the way include Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, N.Y. (Oct. 13); Chubb Theatre in Concord, N.H. (Oct. 14); Opera House in Skowhegan, Maine (Oct. 15); Bardavon, 1869 Opera House in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (Oct. 17); Anderson Center For The Perf. Arts in Binghamton, N.Y. (Oct. 18); the Calvin Theater in Northampton, Mass. (Oct. 20) and the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, N.Y. (Oct. 21).

Next month Bird is playing a free show for the opening night of Celebrate Brooklyn! at Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn, N.Y. According to Bird’s website, the June 10 show is free to the public but a suggested donation of $3 is welcome to offset costs of the summer programming. Additional June dates include appearances at Ann Arbor Summer Festival in Michigan (June 18) and Wanderlust Festival in Stratton, Vt. (June 24).

In August the singer/songwriter plays Regina Folk Festival in Saskatchewan, Canada (Aug. 5), followed by gigs in Arvada, Colo. (Aug. 9) and Boulder, Colo. (Aug. 10).

Bird’s most release solo studio album is 2009’s Noble Beast. A limited edition of Noble Beast included a bonus disc of instrumental tunes titled Useless Creatures.

Pre-sale tickets for the October shows are on sale now. Tickets go on sale to the general public May 6.
