Foo Fighters Raise $1M For Charity

Two Foo Fighters charity shows down under raised a total of A$1 million (US$1.07 million), Frontier Touring announced.

The March 22 show at the Auckland Town Hall raised NZ$354,903 (US$280,000) for the NZ Government Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

In Australia their March 27 set at the Brisbane Riverstage raised A$770,717 for the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal for victims of flooding and bushfires. The figures were collated by independent accounting companies, and full audits are posted on frontiertouring.com.

“The overwhelming success of the concerts and the more than A$1 million raised across the two countries shows how much the Foos care for the people of Australia and New Zealand and they displayed this by staging two of the more memorable rock shows in recent times,” said Frontier Touring Company’s Michael Gudinski.

Both shows sold out in minutes. At both, the Foo Fighters played for three hours, and heralded them as among their best shows.
