‘Save The Music’ With Edward Sharp & Co.
The event is Aussie clothing company Billabong’s fifth annual “Design For Humanity” scheduled for June 15 with 100 percent of the proceeds helping out the VH1 Save The Music Foundation dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in public schools.
Also appearing will be Hanni El Khatib and Southern California-based band LA Riots. Opening the show will be New York’s disco-house group The Hundred In The Hands. DJs Tina T, Mike Relm and Mark Moreno will also be on hand to keep the music going all night long.
But it’s the location that makes this year’s “Design For Humanity” an extra-special event. It’s all going down at Paramount Studios’ New York Streets backlot that features re-creations of various NYC areas including Brooklyn, Greenwich Village, the financial district and Washington Square.
Of course, with a clothing company making the event possible, you can expect plenty of fashion with your music. In this case it means a runway fashion show featuring Billabong bikinis. Other attractions include an art installation, food trucks and a VIP street.
Sponsored by Verizon Wireless, Skullcandy, Chipotle, Vitamin Water and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, tickets are on sale now with prices running from $30 basic entry to $99 for VIP passes. For more information, visit DesignForHumanity.com.
