Check Out Taylor Swift’s Tour Rehearsal
Swift is turning the dress rehearsal into a fundraiser by donating 100 percent of ticket sales to help victims of the recent catastrophe.
According to the Associated Press, last week’s tornadoes killed 329 people across seven states. The natural disaster was the second deadliest tornado outbreak in U.S. history.
The “Speak Now … Help Now!” benefit takes place May 21 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Swift and her band have been rehearsing at the venue for the past five weeks.
“I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage. I’ve never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the ‘Speak Now’ tour would be a great way to raise money,” she said in a statement.
“We will probably still be doing some fine-tuning to the show that night, since this will be a true rehearsal, but I feel like it is so important for me and my fans to help if we can.”
According to Bridgestone Arena’s website, ticket information and further details about the “Speak Now … Help Now!” benefit will be announced on Monday, May 9 on Taylor Swift’s website.
The “Speak Now” tour kicks off with two nights at Qwest Center Omaha in Nebraska May 27-28. The U.S. and Canadian dates wrap up with two nights at Madison Square Garden Arena in New York Nov. 21-22.
Swift’s third studio album, Speak Now, was released in October 2010.
