Genevese Leaves TCN

The Country Network president Tammy Genovese is stepping out on her own to launch a sports and entertainment marketing company.

Genovese, who only took the TCN role last year after 24 years with the Country Music Association, is beginning a new chapter as CEO of Music City Sports and Entertainment Group.

The Nashville-based firm will focus on “creating successful partnerships among sports franchises, artists and athletes, events and major corporate brand initiatives,” according to a statement, and apparently has some clients already.

The group has deals with the Jackson Generals minor-league baseball team in Jackson, Tenn., and with singer-songwriter Nicole C. Mullen, according to the Tennesean.

A replacement for Genovese has not been announced by TCN.
