Scheduled to tape August 14, the “Comedy Central Roast Of Kid Rock” featuring comedians verbally assaulting the Kid will mark the first time the comedy channel has roasted a music artist since Flavor Flav suffered the slings and arrows fired at him by the humorous elite. Other folks who can boast of being roasted include Donald Trump, Larry The Cable Guy and William Shatner.

Although a lineup has yet to be announced, the Kid’s roast will probably follow the tried-and-true roasting model handed down by the Friars Club back in the day when Milton Berle used to chisel his quips in solid granite. Basically, Rock will have to sit there and take it as one comedian after another steps up to the dais to deliver a steady stream of crude and lewd one liners.

Of course, Rock will have his chance to retaliate when his opportunity to roast the roasters comes up at the end of the evening. That is, if he survives.  For more information, visit ComedyCentral.com.
