Harlem’s 10th Great Night

Lou Reed and Macy Gray are two of the performers helping make the 10th anniversary of a night to remember.

The great night takes place May 19 at the Apollo Theater in New York. The annual gala concert is presented by the Jazz Foundation to benefit the Jazz Musicians Emergency Fund.

This year’s lineup also includes Roberta Flack, Dr. John, Christian McBride and Hot 8 Brass Band. Over 40 legends of jazz, R&B, blues, and rock ’n’ roll are scheduled to perform including some “incredible last minute surprises.”

Special guests include Danny Glover and “The Sopranos” actor Michael Imperioli. Hal Willner of “Saturday Night Live” is producing this year’s concert.

The concert is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m., and will be followed by a supper club gala and VIP after-party for major sponsors, patrons and celebrity guests.

Proceeds from “A Great Night In Harlem” will help elder jazz and blues musicians in crisis. This year’s concert has raised $1,582,699 toward a goal of $2 million.

Tables of 10 for the supper club gala and VIP after-party are available by purchasing sponsorship packages ranging in price from $5,000 to $100,000. Single dinner tickets are available for $1,500.

Tickets to the concert are available through the Jazz Foundation’s website and range in price from $55 to $1,500. The $500 balcony tickets include entry to the VIP after-party, and the $1,500 orchestra tickets include entry to the cocktail party, gala dinner and VIP after-party.
