Indian Manager Dies In Car Crash

Chtresh Shrivastava, manager of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, died on tour when the SUV carrying Khan’s musicians flipped while traveling May 8 from Detroit for a show in Chicago.

Khan – nephew of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan – was traveling separately in a car and Shrivastava was originally expected to be traveling with him but, for some reason, got in the SUV, according to Bhavesh Patel, organizer for Khan’s Chicago show at the Odeum Center.

Shrivastava ran a Bollywood event management company, Eyeline Telefilm and Events. His age was not immediately known.

The accident took place in Michigan and other four musicians were taken to hospitals in Kalamazoo.

Khan played in Chicago despite the tragedy.
